LangGuini Post Mortem and Crowdfunding
Ryan Morrison of Island Officials (IO) and of Camden County College (CCC) and Jason Tagmire, an independent board game designer and member of IO, will be presenting a post mortem of sorts on IO’s creation LangGuini. LangGuini was created in Philadelphia during Global Game Jam 2011 and then crowfunded via Kickstarter and will show the project from inception to delivery and share insider information on where the money came from and more. Crowdfunding solves a major development problem: the public has the money you need to develop your soon-to-be-amazing project! But sites for finding micro-investors/investors also help you step up your project idea by measuring demand and getting user feedback while retaining creative and financial control of your idea. In this presentation, you'll get tips and shared experiences about setting fundraising goals, shooting compelling videos, designing a well-crafted reward system, planning promotional strategies with data from Kickstarter (via GDC) and more.
Is RSVP Required?
No, but RSVPing ahead of time will make your sign in process at the event easier. Instead of writing all of your information down on a sign-in sheet, we'll check you off the RSVP list and you'll be done! If you want to come but aren't sure, RSVP regardless and you'll be set even if you need to make a last minute decision! YOU DO NOT NEED TO BRING A PAPER TICKET TO THE MEETING.
Note: RSVP will close noon the day of the event to allow us to print the check-in list prior to heading on site for event set up. If you missed the RSVP online period, you can still attend the event. Just show up and sign in on location!
